Security Film Stopped Robbery!

What Happened?

Earlier this year, an individual attempted to rob a Gear Coop store. We had previously installed 12 Mil thick security film with a silicone bead attachment system to all of Gear Coop’s storefront windows at this location. In the attempted robbery, the individual shot the window, intending to use it as an entrance into the store. Instead, the window held firmly upright due to our window film. While the glass of the window shattered, all of those pieces were held firmly in place by our film and attachment system. After the robber realized that breaking in through the windows was not possible, the individual fled.

The Case

American Window Film installed decorative window film to a yoga studio in a new Irvine apartment complex. The yoga room directly overlooks the gym area. The client wanted to both create separation and add some privacy for the yoga studio. Thankfully they came to us to find the perfect solution.

Our Solution

Decorative film is completely customizable to suit each independent customer. While the customer wanted some privacy, they did not want to completely obscure the view of the yoga room. In addition, because the yoga room looks down onto the gym space, its height already lends additional privacy. Therefore, we created a dual deign on the decorative film: vertical striping and fading frost. The bottom of the film is completely frosted, creating the minimal privacy needed to block people looking up into the room. While the frost fades to the top, visibility becomes easier. The apartments going up are also very modern so to match this aesthetic, we worked with the client and found a design using a 3M gradient decorative film that would match the rest of their spaces. The vertical stripes did this perfectly. While the stripes also add privacy, they do not obscure the view for yogis.

However, these large windows are not kind with the constant California heat and the windows allow anyone walking by to see into the space. Furthermore, the office had issues with past break-ins. Marketeam came to us to find the perfect solution to their problem.

American Window Film installed 3M decorative window film to Radiology Partners in Santa Ana, California! According to their website, Radiology Partners is the largest physician-led and physician-owned radiology practice in the US...who offers diagnostic and interventional radiology services. They have different office locations and their Santa Ana branch recently added a new suite. The Santa Ana location previously had American Window Film install a 3M decorative window film called Dusted Crystal to conference rooms and private offices in each suite. The business owner wanted to keep a uniform look throughout the entire building and wanted to match this new suite with the existing suites. They reached back out to American Window Film to do this new scope of work since we did the original installation!
